This page contains information about the original specifications of the Enfield 8000 where known. Also some tutorials on restoration of the cars. Please check yourself that these parts origins do actually suit your application and see the register tab in the online register for more details.
Paint codes
Cars were available when new in a white, orange, red and sometimes blue colour
The contract for the Electricity Council cars specified ICI colours as being bright red, white and colorado orange
Colorado Orange is the same paint code as a lotus colorado colour
code PJ 6170Z5980RJ ICI P0309055 PPG LOT0043 plus a lotus code for A036B6350V more info here

Electric diodes in control system
The diodes are mainly for arc suppression (on the relay contacts)
There are two types of large diodes
Type S8AN71 [ 1200 amp surge ; 70 amp cont. ; 800 Vrrm ]
these are across the armature and each field coil. [ 3 ] and serve to dissipate the electromagnetic energy stored in these coils when contacts open.
Type S8BN200 [ 4000 amp surge ; 200 amp cont. ; 480 Vrrm ]
These are across the various contacts of the voltage switching relays and the field swap relays.
These diodes may conduct motor current while the relays change state or exceptionally if a relay has dirty contacts.
The 12 volt coils of the big relays also have small suppression diodes suggest 1N5403
These are 3 amp diodes and about 6mm dia. by 10 long. 1N5400 is rated 50 Vrrm up to 1N5408 rated at 1000Vrrm.
This is a 12 volt circuit so it should not matter which you use but I would opt for at least 1N5403 in case of voltage spikes from the system.
These diodes protect the microswitches in the control system.
They will blow instantly if connected the wrong way round. When the coil is energised the silver band on the diode goes to the positive terminal.
